Introducing the Linksys KiSS 1600 High Definition Media Player, an impressively unique solution to home multimedia networking. To put it simply, this clever box will wirelessly connect your computer and/or laptop to your television and home entertainment system.

How? Using 802.11g technology. Why? Because you want to be able to access your music, movies, and photos from the comfort of your living room, with the freedom to surf the internet and stream media. All in 720p/1080i high definition with digital audio. You can also connect external devices such as MP3/4 players, digital cameras and hard disk drives via the USB 2.0 connector, and for those without a wireless router in place, you can connect the KiSS to your wired network with the ethernet socket. And last but not least, the built-in DVD player will encode, play, and burn CDs and DVDs, with the added benefit of HDMI upscaling.

Today Apple have announced a generous cut on the price of the solid-state MacBook Air. The 1.8GHz machine with a 64GB SSD was originally availabe for £1725.95ex through Cancom but is now reduced by just over £260, bringing it down to £1462.99ex.

The MacBook Air was released in January this year, introducing itself as "the world's thinnest notebook". With a 13.3-inch widescreen display, the notebook weighs 1.36kg and is only 1.93cm thick. During design, Apple omitted the optical drive to enable its slender shape and size, but an external SuperDrive can be purchased for use via USB. Cancom are pleased to present a series of inginuitive OS X programs from Parallels Inc. With over 1,000,000 new users since its release, Parallels Desktop and Parallels Server offer smooth running of Windows within your Mac OS. Taking full advantage of the Mac's Intel Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processors allows users to switch between OS X and Windows seamlessly, and copy & paste data between the two.

Windows-only applications can now be run on a Mac including selected 3D games and applications and Windows-only devices can also be hooked up, all with Parallels Desktop. Data can be migrated between the two desktops, and OS X can be used to "bulletproof" Windows from viruses, mistakes, and crashes.

Parallels Server allows all of the above, but on a much grander scale, giving networks and Xserve's greater flexibility, utilising their full potential. Powerful and easy to use, Parallels Server allows cross-platform migration, and smooth use of Windows based products.

Ultimate Ears have developed a child-friendly earphone adequately named the "Loud Enough" range. These colourful earphones feature volume limiting, meaning kids are far less likely to damage their hearing, and due to noise isolating design the 40% limit won't encourage listeners to turn the volume up. Apple today updated its all-in-one iMac® line with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors and the most powerful graphics ever available in an iMac. Cancom, one of the largest Apple Resellers in Europe has acquired the Apple Premium Reseller Store in Edinburgh from Scotsys. For Cancom, this acquisition provides a first store in Scotland to complement its existing locations in Brighton, Cambridge, and Kensington with head office in Guildford.

Apple has introduced new models of the MacBook and MacBook Pro. MacBook Pro models now feature the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors (running at up to 2.6GHz with 6MB of shared L2 cache), larger hard drives (up to 300GB) and 2GB of memory as standard in most models. They also include the latest NVIDIA graphics processors — with up to 512MB of video memory — and an innovative Multi-Touch trackpad, first introduced on MacBook Air.

Apple today released Final Cut Express 4, a significant upgrade to its powerful video editing software based on Apple’s award-winning Final Cut Pro 6. Final Cut Express 4 adds support for the latest AVCHD cameras, allows mixing of standard and high definition content on a single timeline, includes the ability to import iMovie ‘08 projects, and gives users access to hundreds of sophisticated FxPlug cinematic effects and filters.
