Livescribe's Pulse smartpen revolutionises the simple act of writing. Pulse gives consumers all the portability, flexibility and ease-of-use of a pen with the functionality and power of a computer.

Pulse records and syncs audio with whatever you write, so you never miss a word. Users can tap directly on their notes to replay recorded audio from the time they were writing. Pulse connects to your computer so users can transfer, search and share their notes online with friends or colleagues.

Using an application called Paper Replay, Pulse records and syncs audio with whatever you write. Users can then tap directly on words or drawings with Pulse to replay what was recorded from the moment they were writing.

Users can also pause, fast forward, rewind, slow down or speed up recordings using a printed toolbar within the notebook.

With the Livescribe Desktop software, users can transfer notes to their PC to backup, replay, search for words within their notes, and share them online.

Notes and drawings can also be shared with friends and colleagues as interactive Flash movies (or pencasts) online. Pulse also works with pre-printed materials on Livescribe dot paper, such as calculators and other utilities that enhance productivity.

The smartpen responds to preprinted and handwritten commands, providing immediate audio and visual feedback.

Audio Jack

Plug your 3D Recording Headset (included in every purchase) into the audio jack to enable enhanced far-field recording. Each earbud in the headset has an embedded microphone that creates a new standard in recording quality in large rooms or noisy environments.

Power Button

Press the Power Button to turn your smartpen on. You can also hold it down for two seconds to automatically start recording audio.

Microphone

The microphone combined with the on-board noise-canceling software enable the smartpen to record crisp, clear sound.

OLED Display

High-contrast OLED display makes it easy to navigate and interact with Pulse applications.

Built-in Speaker

Built-in speaker plays back your recorded audio and provides audio feedback for smartpen applications. Tap on the volume buttons on your dot paper to control speaker volume.

USB Connector

USB Connector recharges Pulse and transfers notes and audio to your PC. Pulse magnetically docks into the USB Mobile Charging Cradle (included). This allows smartpen users to install new applications from the Livescribe website.

Infrared Camera

High-speed infrared camera with Dot Positioning System (DPS) tracks everything youw rite, tap. or draw on Lightscribe Dot Paper. The DPS not only enables printed controls for recording and playback on each page, but also interactive paper-based applications.

Ink Cartridge

The ink cartridges in the Pulse smartpen are easily preplaceable.Three ink cartridges and a stylus cartridge are inlcuded with every Pulse smartpen purchase.
